Frequently asked questions

  • What’s the difference between Phentermine and Adipex?

There is no difference between the two. Adipex (produced by Gate Pharmaceuticals) is the brand name for phentermine. It contains 37.5mg of phentermine, the same as the generic phentermine tablet.
  • How long can I stay on the medication?

You can remain on the medication as long as necessary if you are continuing to lose weight toward your final goal weight.
  • Are there any side effects with Phentermine?

The two primary side effects are dry mouth and constipation, both of which are easily prevented by drinking plenty of water. Very rarely some people have trouble sleeping for the first few days, since Phentermine is a nervous system stimulant, but that effect wears off quickly.
  • Is Phentermine safe?

Phentermine has been on the market for 50 years, has been prescribed for millions of patients, and has an extremely safe track record. It is not addictive, even though it is chemically related to Dexedrine. Phentermine by itself (unlike in combination with fenfluramine, also known as Phenfen) has never been associated with heart valve problems or with pulmonary hypertension.
  • Can I take Phentermine with the other medications I am taking?

For most medications, there is no adverse interaction with Phentermine. However, at your first visit one of our doctors will review all your medications with you to ensure that there are no adverse interactions. Therefore, when you present for your initial visit, it is very important to list all the medication you are taking including the dose of each.
  • How much weight can I expect to lose in 2 months?

That depends on your starting weight and total body fat. However, most patients lose between 6-15 lbs in two months.
  • Should I do cardio or weights?

Cardio exercise is recommended for losing weight, whereas weight training is recommended for muscle toning and building strength, typically after you have lost your desired amount of weight and then in combination with cardio.
